What kind of finish can I utilize for my block wall?
We always consider all project factors before making a definitive recommendation but in general, we have some great products that perform outstandingly on block and masonry walls. We have an epoxy block filler which can be used with roller or spray that’s perfect for wet process areas. It has a multi-purpose functionality, used to form a smooth substrate for use with a finish coat, in immersion service with a lining or even by itself without a finish coat. As a finish coat, in conjunction with this block filler, we recommend a topcoat product that is so easy to clean and provides the long-lasting beautiful glazed ceramic aesthetic that is so desirable. Other high performing options are also available.
What options are there for a wall system that is subject to extreme abuse?
The application for wall surfaces facing severe abuse requires a protective chemical resistant barrier that has the flexibility and strength to withstand frequent exposure to thermal shock, abrasion and impact. A reinforcing mesh layer may or may not be an appropriate component in that kind of situation. The integrity of the finished product holds up to regular high-pressure steam cleaning. The end result is a seamless protective coating that is easy to clean and most importantly bonds tenaciously to CMU and concrete. A variety of colors is available to fit into any design scheme or aesthetic.
Do you have any finishes that can be applied in an occupied facility?
Yes, we can recommend VOC compliant, virtually odorless material with accelerated curing time that provide a fast return-to-service making the installation process a good fit for occupied job sites.
